Austin Elliot cares about our environment

Austin Elliot's Carbon Reduction Plan

Introduction:

Austin Elliot (AE) is committed to addressing the urgent need to mitigate climate change by achieving net zero emissions by the year 2035. This comprehensive Carbon Reduction Plan outlines the strategic initiatives we will undertake to transition towards a carbon-neutral future. By implementing a combination of sustainable practices, technological advancements, and policy changes, we aim to significantly reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to global efforts in combating climate change.

1.Baseline Assessment:

We will conduct an assessment of our current carbon emissions across all aspects of our operations. This will include an estimation of the carbon footprint associated with our consulting engagements, office energy consumption, transportation, waste management and supply chain activities. This assessment will provide a clear understanding of our carbon footprint and serve as a benchmark for tracking progress.

  • “We will conduct an assessment of our current carbon footprint.”

2.Set Clear Goals:

To meet our stated sustainability target of achieving net zero by 2035, it is vital for AE to establish clear goals. In addition, we will also implement interim targets and milestones to ensure consistent progress towards our 2035 goal.

  • “We will establish clear sustainability goals.”

3.Energy Transition:

In the current AE office, all energy is provided by a green energy supplier. In the future as new premises are occupied AE is committed to only using 100% renewable energy suppliers.

  • “We will only use 100% renewable energy in our buildings.”

4.Sustainable Transportation:

Due to the nature of the AE business, there is currently no requirement for a vehicle fleet. However, AE is committed to sustainable transportation and all staff members are able to lease 100% electric vehicles via the “My Benefits” portal.

In addition, employees are encouraged to use more sustainable options such as public transport, carsharing, cycling, and walking.

  • “We will actively encourage all staff to use sustainable transport options.”

5.Supply Chain Management:

AE is alert to the environmental impact associated with the supply chain. As a direct result we are committed to prioritise suppliers that adhere to sustainable practices, have low-carbon production processes and seek to recycle/repurpose/reuse products at the end of their useable life.

Wherever possible AE is committed to the implementation of a circular economy rather than a linear process. This concept will see AE seek to reuse/recycle products at the end of their useable life (rather than dispose of them – in a linear manner).

  • “We will prioritise sustainable suppliers.”

6.Waste Management:

Further to existing processes (Office Recycling) AE is committed to implementing a comprehensive waste reduction and recycling program. We will eradicate the use of single-use plastics and simultaneously promote reusable and biodegradable alternatives.

  • “We will enhance our recycling whilst simultaneously reducing our waste generation.”

7.Employee Engagement:

AE understands that every action we take can make the difference. Consequently we will raise awareness and educate employees about the importance of carbon reduction. We will also encourage sustainable practices in the workplace and at home through workshops, training, and campaigns. In addition, we will establish a reward system to recognize and incentivize eco-friendly behaviours.

  • “We will encourage employees to engage in sustainable initiatives through awareness campaigns and the encouragement of eco-friendly behaviours.”

8.Partnerships:

AE will continue to work with our selected environmental partners.

9.Summary of Commitments:

AE is fully committed to achieving zero emissions by 2035. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing energy transition, sustainable practices, supply chain management, and policy advocacy, we will play a pivotal role in mitigating climate change. The following capture the essence of our commitments to the transition to net zero.
